Inspired by his own path from entry-level to executive, the president of Universal Forest Products developed a two-year bridge to employment for entrepreneurial high school students. This non-traditional program, known as “UFP University,” blends classroom time with a paid internship that leads to a full-time job with the company.
Square One developed the brand identity and a comprehensive set of tools to support every stage of the new program, using a bright, energetic color palette, strong typography, woodgrain graphics, and images from the construction industry. To attract new students to the program, we designed banners and business cards for college fairs, along with fold-out posters and school hats as giveaways. We also designed a binder and tab system to help students organize coursework and create a cohesive set of learning materials—establishing UFP University as a viable path to a lucrative career.
